Amazon opens a pop-up store in Berlin just in time for the Christmas shopping season

Amazon goes offline! With a so-called pop-up store right in the heart of Berlin. For a whole five days, Amazon is offering its customers a very special offline Amazon shopping experience under the motto #HomeOfChristmas, which is a first for Germany. Just in time for the start of the Advent season, customers can get fully in the mood for Christmas between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. from November 22 to 27. Admission to the Amazon Store is free of charge.

With the Christmas pop-up store, Amazon opens a shop window in the real world and customers can look at various gift ideas for five days on Kurfürstendamm 26a. If interested, items can thereby be scanned directly via QR code and ordered in the Amazon app. As the Internet retailer announced on Thursday, more than 500 gift ideas (selected by experts) from categories such as toys, cosmetics, electronics or household goods will be on display. In addition, large companies such as Samsung, Philips, Nespresso, Lego or L'Oréal will get the opportunity to promote their assortment in the store. The period in which the store is open falls exactly in the company's Cyber Week, so it also includes Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Many special offers of the respective event days can be inspected closely on site and put through their paces before the actual purchase.

Another highlight for children. Children can send their Christmas wish lists to Santa Claus on site. This is a fairly American tradition, but one that is also gaining in importance in this country. However, the company has not yet announced whether the wish lists can be linked directly to mom or dad's Amazon account. But that should certainly be possible in the near future.

What is the idea behind the pop-up store? Senior Manager Consumables Jan Korves answers the question like this: The idea is to replicate the Christmas experience that our customers already have when shopping on Amazon in a pop-up store. In doing so, we want to offer customers a new way to get in the mood for Christmas. In addition to gift inspiration, there will be plenty of Christmas programming: concerts, readings, workshops and, of course, a whole range of great partners.

He refers, for example, to workshops and courses such as the Winter Workout with fitness blogger Sophia Thiel or make-up training with Boris Entrup. However, registrations are required for these special events. If you are interested, you can register for the respective workshops via the Amazon blog(httpss://blog.aboutamazon.de/) or the Facebook page amazon.de(httpss://www.facebook.com/Amazon.de/) from 12.11.2018.

We are already very excited about first impressions and the response of the store!
