"We are expanding to the UK to establish ICONIC also in the local market and to become the leading Amazon agency in the UK as well. London/UK will be one of ICONIC's next core markets in the coming years. The opening of our new office is therefore an important step in our internationalization and growth strategy. We want to expand our international business and our on-site presence in the most important Amazon marketplaces in Europe. London, as an international financial center and emerging tech hub, is an essential complement to our core markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland," says Stefan Gutheil, founder and CEO of ICONIC.
"Despite the Brexit, the city continues to be one of the most important eCommerce markets on the continent with exciting clients and gateway for international business. Our branch now gives us greater access to an international network of key decision makers and some of the best experts in the eCommerce industry, as well as an incredibly good pool of junior staff."
"We are looking forward to the challenge and the agency landscape there. The city continues to be a benchmark and pacesetter for new developments in many areas, especially in the eCommerce industry. Our new presence puts us right on the pulse of new ideas that will benefit not only our projects on the ground in London, but also our projects and stakeholders in the German market," adds Stefan Gutheil, Founder & Managing Director at ICONIC.
"Amazon.co.uk already led the UK e-commerce market in 2020 with e-commerce net sales of €12.852 million. Never have so many investments in London e-commerce companies been recorded as in 2021, and globally, investments in the sector doubled in the Corona pandemic. We are therefore convinced that London will play an important role in the discourse on sustainable growth and set the pace for online marketplaces in Europe."
British consumers show the most enthusiasm for online shopping. Around half of respondents (48 percent) said they shop online at least once a week, according to a study by Dealroom Definition. The U.S. (43 percent), Germany (40 percent) and Australia (38 percent) followed in the country comparison. Furthermore, more than half (57 percent) of consumers in the UK plan to shop online more in the future. It is interesting to note that British consumers tend to prefer a tablet for online shopping, while consumers from the USA prefer to use their cell phone for this purpose.
