E-commerce - consumer goods, home improvement and living as a driving force in e-commerce 2019 

According to strong forecasts by the IFH, e-commerce sales figures will increase by 9% year-on-year in the 2019 calendar year - at roughly the same rate as in previous years. According to calculations, in 2019 rum 68 billion euros will be spent by German citizens in online shopping. A remarkable adjustment in consumption has occurred with regard to the driving forces: Whereas the shares of the previously dominant electronics and fashion sectors in e-commerce are falling, the consumer goods sector in particular is picking up speed. The DIY, garden, furnishings, and home genres are also thriving with considerable growth.
